Catholic Night Prayers 2021
Dear Mother, the long day is coming to an end!
And I kneel before thy beloved image once more to thank thee for keeping me safe throughout the day.
I beseech thee this night to keep evil at bay.
I’ve fallen several times today, Mother Dear.
Many graces have been ignored since the last time I knelt here; wilt thou not, my own Mother kind, in pity, ask Jesus to forgive thy child’s sins?
I’m going to relax since the day’s labor is finished; its hours and minutes have passed one by one; and the God who will judge me has recorded them all, He has counted each grace, He has counted each fall.
They are written in His book against the final day, O Mother, implore Jesus to wash them away; for one drop of His blood shed for sinners is sufficient to purify the entire world of its guilt.
And if I should breathe my last breath before daybreak,
And the sleep I get is the lengthy sleep of death.
Be near me, dear Mother, for the love of Jesus.
When my spirit awakens on the shores of Eternity.
Amen.
Thank you, Lord.
The day has come to an end, and the evening has arrived. Allow tranquility to pour over my home throughout the night and into the early hours of the next morning. Wipe our tears away. Clear our minds of stress and doubt. May Your glorious good safeguard us for the rest of our lives via You.
Amen.
Thank you, God.
The day had been long and difficult. I am relieved that it has come to an end. As I lay here waiting for sleep to come, I reflect on the day that has passed. Work was difficult, but I consider myself fortunate to have a job. My children were a source of frustration for me, but I consider myself fortunate to have them. My body aches, yet I’m thankful for medication. The list goes on, but the most important thing to remember is that even when I suffer, I am privileged to have faith. Thank You, Lord, for providing me with opportunities to relax and replenish on a daily basis.
Amen.
Thank you, God.
My head is heavy, and my body feels tired. It’s time to sleep, and I give in. I thank you, God, for rest and refreshment. It’s time to recharge. It’s time to daydream. A period of silence. I am grateful for everything I have.
Amen.
As I sleep, Jesus returns to my mind via the power of the Holy Spirit. Heal every wound that has been inflicted on me. Heal every wound I’ve inflicted someone else. But, Jesus, if there is anything I need to do, if someone is still suffering as a result of my wickedness, bring to my attention what I have injured and need to repair. I chose to forgive others and to be forgiven myself. Remove any bitterness from my heart and fill it with Your everlasting love.
Amen.
O my God, at the close of this day, I express my heartfelt gratitude to You for all the gifts You have bestowed upon me. I’m sorry I didn’t make greater use of them. I sincerely apologize for all of my transgressions against You. Please forgive me, O my God, and keep me safe this night. Take me under your protection, Blessed Virgin Mary, my dear heavenly mother. Please pray for me, St. Joseph, my beautiful Guardian Angel, and all the saints of God. Have mercy on all unfortunate sinners, Jesus, and save them from hell. Have mercy on the souls in purgatory who are suffering.
Amen.
Watch over those who wake, watch, or grieve tonight, O Lord, and give Your angels responsibility of those who slumber. Tend to Your sick ones, Lord Jesus Christ; rest Your weary ones; bless Your dying ones; soothe Your suffering ones; pity Your tormented ones; and shield Your cheerful ones, all for the sake of Your love.
Amen.
Jesus Christ, my God, I adore You and thank You for all the blessings You have bestowed upon me today. I give You my sleep and all the moments of this night, and I beg You to keep me sin-free. To that aim, I place myself on Your hallowed side and under Our Lady, my Mother’s mantle. Allow Your holy angels to surround me and keep me safe, and bestow Your blessing on me.
Amen.
Go back into my remembrance, Lord Jesus, via the power of the Holy Spirit, as I sleep. Heal every wound that has been inflicted on me. Heal every hurt that I have ever caused another individual. Heal all of the relationships that have been harmed in my entire life that I am unaware of. But, Lord, if there is anything I need to do, if I need to go to a person because he or she is still suffering as a result of my actions, bring that person to my attention, and I choose to forgive and beg to be forgiven. Remove any bitterness from my heart, Lord, and fill the voids with Your love.
Amen.
Jesus Christ, my God, I adore You and thank You for all the blessings You have bestowed upon me today. I give You my slumber and all the minutes of this night, and I beseech You to keep me sinless. As a result, I place myself in Your hallowed side and under Our Lady, my mother’s mantle. Allow Your holy angels to surround me and keep me safe, and bestow Your blessings on me.
Amen.
Lord, please stay with me.
Stay with me, Lord, since You must be present in order for me not to forget You. You are aware of how readily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I am weak and need Your strength to avoid falling so frequently. Stay with me, Lord, since You are my life, and without You, I am void.
Stay with me, Lord, since You are my light, and I am in the dark without You.
Lord, please stay with me and show me Your will.
Lord, stay with me so that I can hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I want to love You and be in Your presence all the time.
If You want me to be faithful to You, stay with me, Lord.
Stay with me, Lord, because as poor as my soul is, I want it to be a haven of love for You.
Stay with me, Jesus, since it is getting late and the day is drawing to an end, and life is passing; death, judgment, and eternity are approaching. It is vital to replenish my strength so that I do not falter along the path, and I rely on You to do so. It’s getting late, and death is approaching; I’m afraid of the darkness, temptations, aridity, the cross, and sorrows. My Jesus, how I need You in this night of exile!
Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in the midst of life’s perils. I require Your assistance. Allow me to recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion may be the Light that dispels the darkness, the energy that sustains me, and the singular delight of my heart.
Stay with me, Lord, for I want to be joined to You at the hour of my death, if not by communion, then by grace and love.
Stay with me, Jesus, I don’t ask for divine comfort because I don’t deserve it, but I do ask for the gift of Your Presence, oh yes, I do!
Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone that I seek, Your Adore, Grace, Will, Heart, and Spirit, because I love You and ask for no other return but to love You more and more. I will love You with all my heart while on earth and will continue to adore You properly throughout eternity.
Amen.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. The angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary… V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord R. Let it be done unto me according to your word. Hail Mary… V. And the Word was made flesh R. And dwelt among us. Hail Mary… V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech you, O Lord, your grace into our hearts, that we, to whom the Incarnation of Christ your Son was made known by the message of an angel, may, by his Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of his Resurrection through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Miserere
Have mercy on me, God, in your kindness. In your compassion blot out my offense. O wash me more and more from my guilt and cleanse me from my sin. My offenses truly I know them; my sin is always before me. Against you, you alone, have I sinned; what is evil in your sight I have done. That you may be justified when you give sentence and be without reproach when you judge. O see, in guilt was I born, a sinner was I conceived. Indeed you love truth in the heart; then in the secret of my heart teach me wisdom. O purify me, then I shall be clean; O wash me, I shall be whiter than snow. Make me hear rejoicing and gladness, that the bones you have crushed may revive. From my sins turn away your face and blot out all my guilt. A pure heart create for me, O God, put a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, nor deprive me of your holy spirit. Give me again the joy of your help; with a spirit of fervor sustain me, that I may teach transgressors your ways and sinners may return to you. O rescue me, God, my helper, and my tongue shall ring out your goodness. O Lord, open my lips and my mouth shall declare your praise. For in sacrifice you take no delight, burnt offering from me you would refuse; my sacrifice, a contrite spirit. A humbled, contrite heart you will not spurn. In your goodness, show favor to Zion: rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. Then you will be pleased with lawful sacrifice, holocausts offered on your altar. Amen.
Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honoring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee. I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee. I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants. Amen.
Act of Consecration to the Holy Spirit
On my knees, before the great multitude of heavenly witnesses, I offer myself, soul and body to you, Eternal Spirit of God. You are the strength and light of my soul and I desire never to grieve you by unfaithfulness. Mercifully guard my every thought and grant that I may always watch for your light, and listen to your voice, and follow your gracious inspirations. I cling to you and give myself to you and ask you, by your compassion to watch over me in my weakness. Holding the pierced Feet of Jesus and looking at His Five Wounds, and trusting in His Precious Blood and adoring His opened Side and stricken Heart, I implore you Spirit, Helper of my infirmity, to keep me in your grace that I may never sin against you. Give me grace O Holy Spirit of the Father and the Son to say to you always and everywhere, “Speak Lord for your servant listens.” Amen.
Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit
O Lord Jesus Christ, before ascending into heaven you did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish your work in the souls of your Apostles and Disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me that He may perfect in my soul, the work of your grace and your love. Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom that I may despise the perishable things of this world and aspire only after the things that are eternal, the Spirit of Understanding to enlighten my mind with the light of your divine truth, the Spirit of Counsel that I may ever choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining heaven, the Spirit of Fortitude that I may bear my cross with you and that I may overcome with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation, the Spirit of Knowledge that I may know God and know myself and grow perfect in imitation of the Saints, the Spirit of Piety that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable, and the Spirit of Fear that I may be filled with a loving reverence towards God and may dread in any way to displease Him. Mark me, dear Lord with the sign of your true disciples, and animate me in all things with your Spirit. Amen.

Catholic Night Prayer for Family
O God of goodness and mercy, we entrust our family, our home, and all our possessions to Thy fatherly guidance. We dedicate everything to Thy care and protection; fill our house with Thy blessings as Thou didst fill the sacred House of Nazareth with Thy presence.
Above all, keep the blemish of sin away from us, and reign alone in our midst by Thy law, Thy most holy love, and the exercise of every Christian virtue. Let everyone of us obey Thee, love Thee, and resolve to follow Thine example, that of Mary, Thy Mother and our Mother most loving, and that of Thy blameless guardian, Saint Joseph, in our own lives.
Protect us and our home from all evils and calamities, but allow that we may be ever surrendered to Thy divine will, even in the tragedies that Thou wilt send us. Finally, grant us all the grace to live in perfect peace and in the fullness of love for our neighbor. Grant that by living a pure life, everyone of us may merit the solace of Thy holy Sacraments in the hour of death. Jesus, bless us and keep us safe.
O Mary, Mother of Grace and Mercy, protect us from the evil spirit, reconcile us with Thy Son, and submit us to His care, that we may be made worthy of His promises.
Saint Joseph, foster-father of our Lord, protector of His holy Mother, and head of the Holy Family, intercede for us, bless us, and protect our home at all times.
Saint Michael, protect us from all the terrible trickery of hell.
Saint Gabriel, help us to discern God’s holy will.
Saint Raphael, keep us safe from all sickness and danger.
Our dear Guardian Angels, keep us on the path of salvation at all times of the day and night.
Our dear Patrons, intercede for us before God’s throne.
Yes, bless this house, O God the Father, who made us; O God the Son, who died for us on the holy Cross; and Thou, O Holy Spirit, who purified us in holy Baptism. May the one God, manifested in three divine Persons, protect our bodies, purify our thoughts, guide our hearts, and bring us all to eternal life.
Glory to the Father, glory to the Son, and glory to the Holy Spirit! Amen.
Catholic Night Prayers For Couples
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this life together, for the gift of our love, and the blessing of our marriage. We give you praise and thanks for the joy you’ve poured into our hearts through this bond of love we share.
Thank you for the contentment of family, and the happiness of our home. May we always treasure the experience of loving each other in this holy union. Help us to remain forever committed to our vows, the promises we made to each other, and to you, Lord.
We need your strength daily, Lord, as we live together with the goal of following, serving, and honoring you. Develop within is us the character of your Son, Jesus, that we might love each other with the love he demonstrated—with patience, sacrifice, respect, understanding, honesty, forgiveness, and kindness.
Allow our love for each other to be an example to other couples. May others seek to imitate our commitment to marriage and our dedication to God. And may others be inspired as they see the blessings we enjoy because of our faithfulness in marriage.
Let us always be a support to one another—a friend to listen and encourage, a refuge from the storm, a companion to lean on, and, most importantly, a warrior in prayer.
Holy Spirit, guide us through the difficult moments of life and comfort us in our grief. May our lives together bring glory to you, our Savior, and testify of your love.
In the name of Jesus, we pray.
Amen.

Optional Closing Prayer
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion–inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
One way to make sure you don’t fall asleep before saying your final prayer is to work through the sentences you might have forgotten. Think back to when you last said your Rosary prayers, either while driving in traffic or at home. Write down the sentences you still remember, and then add a few new ones to the end of your recitation. You can also use the extra time to read a chapter or two from the Bible or other religious books that you have in your car or home, which will help you relax and get in the God-breathed state necessary for prayer. The beauty of this method is that you only have to do it once and then you can use the rest of your time to read or pray without having to think about what you were saying the last time. This method is a great way to fall asleep, and it’s also a great way to remind yourself why you are praying in the first place – to have your sins removed from your body.
